Chess: The Game of Life (full ver.) | December, 2011

Artist: Chris Walsh

Details: Video documentation of a sculpture/performance piece by Chris Walsh involving a salt block chess board and pieces made of ice.

"'Chess: The Game of Life' is a microcosm combining the human touch with melting ice pieces and an eroding rock salt board to reflect the nature of interaction. Set into a circular table to signify the heavens, the board’s 64 squares of crystallized minerals slowly erode to the ebb and flow of each match, imprinting patterns of play much as rivers and oceans shape the Earth." - Chris Walsh
